|
For people with experience with statistical techniques and the EViews software package or another statistical package. Typically, people will have completed a major in a statistics or econometrics subject in their tertiary studies and have also worked in this area since graduating. They want to revise more advanced work in econometrics and time series analysis and to see how EViews 6 can be used to implement these more advanced models.
Course Outline
- Multivariate Methods: Tests of Equality, Principal Components, Factor Analysis
- EViews Databases: Basics, Working with Objects, Database Auto-Series, The Database Registry, Querying the Database and Maintaining the Database

- ARCH / GARCH models: Basics, Estimation, Using ARCH models
- Further models: (IGARCH, TARCH, EGARCH), (ARCH-M, CGARCH, PARCH)
- The LogL Object: Overview, Specification, Estimation, LogL Views, LogL Procs
Lunch - provided
- Discrete & Limited Dependent Variable Models I: Binary Dependent Variable Models & Ordered Dependent Variable Models
- Discrete & Limited Dependent Variable Models II: Censored Regression Models, Truncated Regression Models, Count Models
Afternoon Tea - provided
- System Estimation: Estimation Methods, Creating and Specifying a System, and Working with Systems
- VAR & Error Correction Models: Vector Autocorrelations, VAR Estimation, Views and Procs, Structural VARs, Cointegration Testing & Vector Error Correction (VEC) Models

Registration closes 5 days prior to the start of the course. The number of participants is limited.
If a cancellation occurs within 10 working days of the course date, the full value of the course fee will be charged. If cancelled prior to 10 working days of the course date, no cancellation fee will be charged. Cancellation fees apply to all training attendees. Hearne Scientific Software reserves the right to reschedule any course. In the event that Hearne Scientific Software cancels a course, full refunds will be issued to all paid parties.
