AccuRate Training

AccuRate Training is conducted by the Association of Building Sustainability Assessors (ABSA). ABSA is a not-for-profit incorporated association representing building and design professionals who specialise in assessing the environmental impact of buildings.

The ABSA course has been designed to develop the skills and knowledge that enable:

  • Development of practical, cost-effective building and design solutions that provide more comfortable homes that cost less to run and minimise impact on our environment;
  • Sophisticated analysis of residential building thermal performance using CSIRO's AccuRate software;
  • Delivery of professional assessment services that provide valuable, specialist advice and certification of regulatory compliance.

This qualification is a pre-requisite requirement to be able to be Accredited with ABSA as a House Energy Rating Accredited Assessor, using the AccuRate software.

You may be able to achieve the Home Energy Rating Accredited Assessor Qualification, without undertaking all or parts of the training program, if you can demonstrate appropriate prior learning and experience. ABSA will still require you to successfully complete practical exercises and examination to demonstrate that you have achieved the skills and knowledge developed by this course.

The ABSA training has been developed with support from the Australian Greenhouse Office and the New Zealand Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority in consultation with industry.
